(Lat.), n. f. ’. Fr., béla. See ÆGLE marmelos. —LBel fructus [Br. Ph.]. Ger.,. Bael fruit; the dried half-ripe fruit of the Ægle marmelos, used as a remedy for dysentery and diarrhcea. [B.|—B'frucht (Ger.). See Bele fructus.— Extractum belæ liquidum [Br. Ph.]. Fr., extrait liquide de déla. Ger., flü iges B’extract. A preparation made from 1 Ib, of b. fruit, 12 imperial pints of distilled water, and 2 fi. oz. of rectified spirit. ‘The fruit is macerated in one third of the water, then in the second third, and then in the remaining third, for an hour; the marc is then pre ed, and the liquors are mixed and filtered. earned flannel, and the mixture is evaporated to 14 fl. oz. When it is cold, the spirit is added. [A, 308.]
