[Eng., ., kersant ( on ); suff. -ite, yte.] Petrol.: A micaceous dolomite found at Visembach, in the Vosges. ( Dana .) A butite porphyrit ically developed in a greenish-gray matrix, consisting mainly of oligoclase, and occasionally found as IMG:content-0220.png:[blocks in formation] santon (q. v.).
