[Cf. Gr. κεραυνοσκοπία, the observation of thunder and lightning in divination, Cerbera (ser be-rä), n. [NL., after the fabled dog Cerberus, in allusion to their poisonous qualities.] An apocynaceous genus of small trees, consisting of four maritime species of Madagascar, tropical Asia, and the Pacific. known are C.
