Booby

(Sula fusc a), a swimming bird allied to the gannet, and so named by early mariners, owing to the stupidity with which it allowed itself to be killed without attempting to escape. They live on fish. There are several species found throughout the world, in America, notably along the shores of Georgia, Lower California, and Peru.
