[Lat. affrictus = a rubbing against; affrico = to rub against.] The act or proce of rubbing one thing against another; the state of being so rubbed; friction. "I have divers times observed in wearing silver hilted swords, that if they rubbed upon my cloaths, if they were of a light-coloured cloth, the affriction would quickly blacken them."- Boyle .
