Barosma

(bah-ros'mah.) (Bot.) A gen. of plants, O. Rutaceæ. The species B. crenata and serrati folia, dwarf evergreen shrubs with small dotted leaves having a strong rue-like odor, furnish the medicinal Buchu leaves, which have stimulant, antispasmodic, and diuretic properties. [s. 75]
