dodonaa

[Named after Dodonœus, i. e. after Rembert Dodoens, a Belgian botanist and physician, who died A. D. 1585.] Bot .: A genus of Sapindacese, the typical one of the tribe Dodonese (q. v.). The flowers are apetalous, unisexual, or polygamous; the leaves various; the whole plant viscous and aromatic. Locality: Australia without the tropics, and moreө rarely other hot countries. The leaves of Do done a tiscosa are used in baths and fomentations, the wood of D. dioica is carminative, and D. thunber giana is slightly purgative and febrifugal.
