JEAN PAUL FRIED RICH, (riktür,) an eminent German author, B. in Bavaria, 1763; D. at Bayreuth, 1825. His works are but little esteemed out of Germany: among his many novels, that called Titan ranks as perhaps the best. In higher walks of literature, he produce dan Introduction to Esthetics (1804); and Levana, a philosophical e ay on education (1807). [s. 770]
