Oolite

—A limestone composed of small grains, more or le spherical in appearance, each formed of concentric coats of calcium carbonate around a nucleus, usually a grain of sand; used for building, and valued on account of the ease with which it may be worked and its soft and pleasing color. Also known as oolitic freestones and Indiana marble.
