Dalea (dale a)

[NL., named after Samuel Dale, an English physician (died 1739).] A large leguminous genus of glandular-punctate herbs or small shrubs, allied to Psoralea. There are over 100 species, chiefly Mexican, but many are found in the drier western portions of the United States. Dale carl i an (dal-e-kär'li-an), a. and n. [ II. n.
