[Gr.] ( Med.) The gout. Arthro/dia, n. [Gr., from arthron, a joint, and eidos, form.] (Anat.) A movable connection of bones, in which the head of one bone is received into the superficial cavity of another, so as to admit of motion in every direction, as the head of the humerus with the glenoid cavity of the scapula.
