Lie. Theol. (Tubingen, 1856), D.D. (Tubingen, 1857), Roman Catholic; b. at Wart hausen, near Biberach, Germany, March 6, 1821; studied theology and philosophy at Tubingen; became priest there, 1845; and succe ively in its university, repetent to the Wilhelm tift (1846), privat-docent of pedagogics, didactics, and the exegesis of the N. T. Epistles (1851), profe or extraordinary (1853), ordinary profe or of church law, pedagogics, and the exegesis of the Epistles (1857). He is the author of Der Kirchenbann nach den Grundsdtzen des kanonischen! Rechts, Tubingen, 1857, 2d ed. 1863; Die Suspension der Kirchendiener, 1862; Die Deposition und Degradation, 1867. *
