One Old Cat, Two Old Cat

Simpler and probably earlier games of baseball. The former is played by three or more persons, one acting as catcher, one as batsman, and one as pitcher: any others become fielders. When only three or four are playing, it is customary for the batsman when he hits the ball to run to the pitcher's place and back. When there are more men, there may be two or three batsmen, and they may run the bases as in a regular game. Two Old Cat has two batsmen facing each other, and two catchers or pitchers, who IMG:content-1660.png:[graphic] alternately pitch and catch. The batsmen then run from one home base to the other, more after the fashion of cricket.
