Reville, Albert

D.D. (Leyden, 1862), French Protestant; b. at Dieppe, Seine-Inferieure, Nov. 4, 1826; studied at Dieppe, Geneva, and Stra burg, and in 1848 became a bachelor in theology was pastor of the Walloon Church at Rotter dam, 1851-72, and then resided 191 near Dieppe, engaged in philosophical studies, until, in 1880, he was called to the. chair of the history of religions in the College of France, Paris.
