1. One who strengthens or upholds.-2. One who fortifies, or constructs fortifications. M. Giouanni Marmori, a fortifier, had deuised a certaine kinde of ioyned boords, the which being caried of the souldiers, defended them from the shot. Hakluyt's Voyages, II. 123. ston. A little fort; a blockhouse; a fortalice. Nought feard theyr force that fortilage to win. Spenser, F. Q., II. xii. 43.
