ATRACTYLATE

n. ’titl-at. A salt of atractylic acid. [A, 385.] , ATRACTYLIC ACID, n, A%t-ra%k-ti2l/i2k. Fr., acide atractylique, Ger., Atractylsäure. A tribasic acid, OsgH,,5.01s, or à hex a basic acid, CopH, 195,095, derived from the root of the Eat lis gummifera, colorle , odorle , astringent, and of a sweetish bitter taste; said by some to have the properties of a glucoside, but by others only to be converted into a glucoside, atractylin, by saponification with bai or potash.
