Chamber

(cham'br.) (Polity.) The place where certain a emblies are held; also, the a emblies themselves. Of these, some are established for the administration of justice, others for commercial affairs. In many languages, C. is used to designate a branch of government whose members a emble in a common apartment-(Gun.) That part of a cannon or mortar which contains the charge of powder.-C. of a mine, is a hole, generally made in a cubical form, for the deposit of the powder for blasting.
