(Lat. pes.) One of the ramifications of that part of a flower called the peduncle. PED I CELL ATES, Pedicel lat a. (Lat. pes.) The name of an order of Echinoderms, comprehending those which have the vesicular pedicellate organs, which are termed feet In this cla , but which project from various parts of the surface of the boay. PEDIMANES, Pedimani. (Lat. pes, and manus, a hand.) The name of a family of Marsupial animals, of which the opo um (Didelphis) is the type; they are distinguished by the opposable property of the hinder thumb or hallux, the fore feet being organized like those of ordinary Unguiculate quadrupeds.
