A kind of bread made of the meal of Indian corn. See corn dodger, johnny - cake, and corn - pone. [U.S.] corn-cadgert, n. [Sc.; also corn-cauger.] A dealer in corn; a peddler of corn. Like gentlemen ye must not seem, But look like corn - caugers gawn ae road. Jock o' the Side (Child's Ballads, VI. 83).
