[Gr. epistro phe, from epistrephoto turn back: epi =upon, and strephoto turn.] Bot . ( of the form epistrophy): The return of a monstrous or variegated form to the normal condition. (R. Brown, 1874.) Rhet.: A figure of speech in which several succe ive clauses or sentences end with the same word or affirmation: as, "Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israeli tes? So am I. Are they of the seed of Abraham? So am I. " (2 Cor . xi. 22.)
