(b) The act of refraining from decision, determination, sentence, execution, or the like: as, a suspension of judg ment or opinion. (c) The act of causing the operation or effect of something to cease for a time: as, the suspension of the Habeas Corpus Act. Practically, no bill escapes commitment - save, of course, bills introduced by committees, and a few which may now and then be crowded through under a suspension of the rules, granted by a two-thirds vote.
