Caroline Lucretia, an English astronomer; sister of Sir William; born in Hanover, March 16, 1750. She devoted special energy to the discovery of comets, and was so succe ful as to be entitled to claim the priority of discovery of at least five. On her brother’s death in 1822 she returned to her native country, where she died Jan. 9, 1848.
