Abrus

(a’brus) [L.; Gr. ἁβρός delicate]. A genus of leguminous plants. A. precato’rius, or jequirity, has poisonous seeds: the infusion is strongly irritant to the eyes, and is used in granular ophthalmia. See jequirity. A. Β. 8. pill. See under pill.
