Granite

One of the most common ma ive granular crystalline rocks, varying considerably in coarsene of grain and in color, but consisting e entially of feldspar, quartz, and mica, in grains distinctly visible to the naked eye. Some granite is of igneous origin and some metamorphic. Its ultimate compre ive strength varies from 5,000 to 15,000 lbs. per sq. inch.
