an educational (non sect.) institution in Hanover N. H.; founded in 1769. In 1904 the institution had a student body of about 200. Its alumni include several famous names, The famous DaART- MOUTH COLLEGE CASE, argued before the Supreme Court by Daniel Webster, in 1861, confirmed the inviolability of a private trust, if lawful at its inception.
