Neuroptera

Insects, with membranous wings, whose nervures form a network. The prothorax is free; the mouth parts are adapted for biting or sucking. The metamorphosis is complete, i.e., the young pa through a pupa stage. There are two sub-orders, Plan i pennia and Trichoptera.
