[RUBESCENT.] A growing or becoming rubescent; the state of being red; a blush. rû-běs'-çent, adj . [Lat. rubescens , pr. par. of rubesco, incept. from rubeo =to be red; ruber =red.] Growing or becoming red; tendency to redne . *rû-bě-ŭs, s .
