[Named after the place where found, Maman; suff. -ite ( Min. ).] Min.: A mineral resembling polyhalite in physical characters, but differing in having the potash, magnesia and lime in the ratio of 1:2:3. Found in nodules at the salt mine of Maman, Persia, a ociated with carnallite. *măm-bling, & (Prob., the same as MUMBLING.] [MUMBLE.] A mumbling. "In such a mambling of profe ion."- Bp . The word acquired a position in the English language owing to the fact that one of the defensive works of Sebastopol was called the Mamelon.
