Anamorphosis, an a morph osy

[In Ger., Fr., & Port. an a morph ose. From Gr. ἀναμόρφωσις ( anamorphosis ) = a forming anew: avá ( ana ) = again, and μόρφωσις ( mor phos is) = (1) shaping, moulding; (2) from μορφόω (morphoō) = to give form to; μορφή ( morphe ) = form.] Perspective: A projection of any object in such a way, that if looked at from one point of view it will appear deformed; whilst from another it is properly proportioned. Sometimes the object is so projected that to the naked eye it appears deformed, whilst a mirror of a particular shape will at once present it in its proper aspect.
