A term used to designate all kinds of sharp and cutting instruments made of iron or steel, as knives, forks, sci ors, razors, . The principal seat of the manufacture of British cutlery is Sheffield; and the articles made there are held in the highest estimation in all parts of the world. See Hardware. [s. 325]
