of a stockholder. In London the owner of inscribed stock (government or municipal bonds) is inscribed on the books at designated places of registration. The owner of inscribed stock sold on the London Stock Exchange - has to be identified by a broker on the exchange or his clerk before the stock sold can be transferred. Such transfers, however, are frequently carried out by means of a power of attorney.
