Converser

One who converses; a talker. Conversible, a. Susceptible of being reversed, or a uming a converse relation. Conversion, ( kon -ver's hun,) n. [Lat. conversio.] A turning or change from one state into another; trans mutation; as, the conversion of metals. -Change of opinions or conduct; a change of heart or dispositions, succeeded by a reformation of life; change from side or party to another, or from one religion to another; as, the conversion of St. Paul. ( Logic .) An interchange of terms in an argument; as, No virtue is vice; no vice is virtue. ( Math .) A reduction of the form of a proposition. C. of equations. In algebra, the reducing of a fractional equation into an integral one. ( Mil .) A change of front. (Law.) C. is where a man has found, or become po e ed of another's goods, and refuses to deliver them on demand; in which case he is said to have converted them to his own use. And an action of trover will lie to recover the goods, or the value thereof.
