B.C.), king of J udah; had great difficulty in putting down revolts of subject states; Bible relates how Sennacherib of As syria invaded Judah and lost 180,000 men in single night by stroke of the ‘angel of the Lord,’ but episode is doubtful. H. was famous prophet and administrator; builder of aqueducts at Jerusalem.
