Stachys

(sta'-kis). A genus of labiate plants, including motherwort, a perennial herb growing in Europe, Asia, and North America. It is said to po e tonic and diuretic properties, and to be a vascular stimulant. S.palustris. Hedge-nettle; it grows in marshy places in Europe and North America.
