pl. [From anchor ell a (q.v.).] A family of Entomostracans, belonging to the order Lerneadæ and the tribe Anchor a car paceæ. It contains only one British genus, Anchor ell a (q.v.). ăn'-chor-ě , ăn-crěs, s. [Eng. anchor = anchorite; -e , to mark the feminine gender.] A female anchorite.
