Exostosis

(eks -os-tō'sis.) [From Gr. priv. ex, and ost eon, a bone. ] (Surg.) A morbid excrescence on a bone, whether attended with an erosion or not. (Bot.) A diseased condition in plants, in which hard ma es of wood are produced, projecting like warts or tumors from the main stem or roots. [s. 350]
