A genus of South American bats, of the family Emballonu rid a, having the forehead prominent, the tail Furia horrens. ending in the interfemoral membrane, and the following dental formula: incisors and premolars 2 in each upper and 3 in each lower halfjaw, canines 1 in each, and molars 3 in each upper and lower half-jaw.
