Cortona

(kör-to'nah,) a town of Italy, inT usc any, near the lake of Thrasymene, 50 m. from Florence. It is of very ancient origin, and was one of the 12 principal cities ofEtruria. It has still some remains of the Cyclopean walls which surrounded the original city. Pop.5,411. [s. 232]
