235. Roman historian, who held office from Commodus to Alex. Severus, and was twice Consul. His History of Rome extended to 229, and consisted of 80 books, of which we po e fragments of the first 24, books 36-54 entire, an abridgment of 55-60, 4 parts of 71 and 75. The work was modeled upon Thucydides, and is of considerable value.
