(Leipzig, 1883), German Protestant; b. at Leipzig, Jan. 13, 1857; studied at Leipzig and Erlangen, 1875-79; member of the Prediger Collegium of St. Paul's, Leipzig, 1880-82; became privat-docent of theology at Leipzig, 1883.
