(se-ta' -se-ah). An order of mammals living in the sea, as the whale, dolphin, etc. Cetaceumceti. A fatty (se-ta's ubstance -se-um). Sperm a somewhat paraffin in its physical properties. It is obtained from the head of the sperm whale, Physeter macro cep halt is. It is soluble in ether, chloroform, and boiling alcohol, and is employed only as an emollient. C, Ceratum, contains sperm act i io, white wax 35, olive oil 55 parts. C., Ung. (B. P.), contains spermaceti, white wax, almond oil, and benzoin.
