a Southern fish found in three chief varieties—Black, Red and White. In weight it ranges from five to ten pounds, and even as high as twenty pounds, and in shape is a cro between a carp and a ba . The flesh is firm but coarse, and of only second quality. It is in season from November to March. [s. 295]
