adj. Ba?s’i?l-a®r, Lat., basilar is. Fr, basilaire. Ger., basilar. Pertaining to, constituting, or springing from the base of auything; as a n., according to Cuvier and Aga iz, the bas i-occipital bone, also, according to Straus, the rior and inferior piece of the head of an insect.
