It receives lumbar, right spermatic, renal, suprarenal, phrenic, and hepatic veins. V. cava superior, a vein formed by the union of the innominate veins, and conveying the blood from the upper half of the body to the right auricle. V. comes, Venae comites, a vein or veins accompanying an artery in its course. Venae Galeni, the two trunks formed by the union of the vein of the corpus striatum and that of the choroid plexus; they empty into the straight sinus.
