SHAD

Sce under Hurrine Faminy. tree allied to the orange tree, bearing large white flowers followed by globose fruits with greenish-yellow skins. Sometimes they attain a weight of as much as 20 lbs. It is a native of S.E. Asia, and is extensively cultivated, particularly for the production of the somewhat smaller variety of fruit known as the grape fruit.
