It is found in the blood, bile, serous fluids, brain, nerves, yolk of egg, semen, pus, and white blood-corpuscles. It is a colorle , slightly crystalline substance, soluble in alcohol, and chemically is looked upon as the glycerophosphate of neurin in which two atoms of hydrogen are replaced by two atoms of stearic, palmitic, or oleic acid. 358
