(én-gan-ya’-ré), Marco A., Verona, ca. 1545—Cremona, I, 1592; conductor, composer publisher. (én’-gél-brékht), Desiré Emile, b. Paris, Sept. 17, 1880; composer; pupil of Cons.; a friend of Debu y in the composer’s latter days, whose works he excels in conducting; after 1908 active at various Paris theatres and following 1925 music. dir. at the Op.-Comique; c. ballet, ‘‘Le Diable dans le beffroi’? (after Poe), and numerous orch., chamber music, and vocal works; arr. works of Couper in and Albeniz for orch. In’gram, Frances, b. Liverpool, England, 1888; contralto; studied with Maurel; after 1911 sang for several years with Chicago Op. Co.; 1913, Montreal Op. Co., and also in concerts.
