Accrete

( Bot.) Grown together. Accretion, n. [Lat. accrescere, to increase.] An increase by natural addition of new parts. (Med.) The growing together of parts naturally separate, as the fingers or toes. (Law.) Land gained from the sea, or a river, by the washing up of sand or soil, so as to form firm ground. If this accretion be by small and imperceptible degrees, it belongs to the owner of the land immediately adjacent to it.
