Table Vanilla

(van -W -ah) [L.]. A genus of plants of the order Orchidese. The fruit of V. plan i folia (V., U. S. P.) contains an aromatic crystalline principle, Vanillin, C6H3.- OCH3.OH.COH =C8H803, which is the methyl-ether of pro toc a tec huic aldehyd.
