[Gr. anthodes, like flowers.] ( Bot. ) A technical name for the capitulum or head of flowers of a plant of the ord. Asteracese. Anthological, a . Pertaining to anthology. Anthology, n. [From Gr. anthos , a flower, and lego , to gather.] A collection of choice poems, particularly a collection of Greek epigrams so called. The word in its original sense simply means a collection of flowers.
